As an intermediate sailor, you’re going to really have fun at our Beach Clubs! Enjoy the calm morning conditions to help you get your sea legs back and master that new skill, then get ready to enjoy the thermal winds as they build through the day to offer some really exciting sailing.
You will be able to ‘free-sail’ our top-notch sailing dinghies all week, (including performance boats), with an expert team of RYA instructors always on hand to help you rig up and get launched; and even give you some tips along the way.
If you’d like to develop your sailing, then try our Level 3 RYA course for Intermediates. It’s a free-and-inclusive course and offers a fun and sociable group session with 6:1 student-instructor ratios. You get the best, most focussed coaching, and after your course (4 half days), we’ll send you home with a new RYA qualification and certificate to prove your new skill.
Dinghy sailing lessons (for all levels) and RYA courses* are included in our holidays and they’re run by our own team of British RYA instructors. Over the last ten years, we’ve taught thousands of guests to learn to sail and developed many a skill-set with our experienced staff. We know we’ve got the formula just right: with the perfect sailing conditions at all our centres - coupled with a brilliant team of instructors - we keep our guests coming back every year!
Our inclusive lessons and RYA ‘Better Sailing’ course will cover progressive techniques for sailing in stronger winds and an introduction to performance sailing, racing and sailing with spinnakers. You’ll go home with a new RYA Level 3 qualification.
As an Intermediate sailor, you’ll be able to 'free sail' any of our dinghies, all week. And we’ll even help you step up into a performance boat. Simply choose a dinghy, let the beach team know and head out into our sailing area. Our water sports centre is open each day from 9.30am until the last guest comes off the water and it’ll remain open over lunch, so you can sail non-stop if you want to!
Our beach team are on hand to help you rig-up and launch whenever you choose to go sailing in beach opening hours; during which our support boats will always be on hand.
Level 3 is a follow-on from the skills learned in Level 2. Our expert instructors will not only equip you with better sailing skills and some advanced techniques, but they will send you home a more confident sailor. You will also earn an internationally recognised RYA sailing qualification by the end of your stay.
We’ll cover better boat handling, tacking, gybing, capsize techniques, rigging, launching and safety to a higher level; and you’ll get a deeper introduction to more advanced modules like Performance Sailing and Sailing with Spinnakers. For ages 14+. Under 13's will join our free kid's club (5 days) with sailing and windsurfing tasters. The 8-13's can join our Youth Squad.
Level 3 Dinghy Sailing is a progressive course designed to make you into a confident medium winds sailor. Our instructors make the learning curve fast, safe and very enjoyable as you will be experiencing stronger winds in single handed boats. We use our Ocean Elements ‘Fast Forward’ coaching techniques with small group sizes: 6 students to each instructor.
Level 3 normally runs for 2-3 hours each afternoon over 4 days a week. As well as ‘Better Sailing’ techniques, we will cover performance sailing and advanced modules like spinnaker handling, trapezing and an introduction to racing and the rules if the group wishes. We’ll also look at rig tuning and boat set up in more detail.
We use boats like the Laser Radial, Laser 1 and Hartley 12’s with modern and up-to-date rigs. We’ll also introduce you to performance skiffs like the RS 100. Staying for two weeks? Then why not try some Level 4 clinics as well?
Join in with our fun and light-hearted dinghy races which are held most days during the week. We’ll give a short introduction to the world of racing so that you can take part in our events with tips on starting, finishing, tactics and the basic rules of racing.
Our racing is aimed at all levels and we generally run daily races for class boats like the Laser fleet, and handicap racing for mixed fleets. It’s all about taking part and having fun, (with prizes too!), and a great chance to show us your competitive side!
Available all centres
Discover the adventurous world of dinghy cruising whilst on holiday with us. We will offer you the opportunity to take part in our dinghy cruises and enjoy the feeling of longer-distance sailing as you cruise in company to a nearby island or ‘secret-beach’ stopover with instructors and RIB support boats to guide the flotilla.
DInghy cruises generally take place at the middle of the week and they involve all craft from single and double handed boats to family boats with a few crew. So choose your vessel and pick your crew, sign up and get involved!
You will learn about cruise planning, safety and basic navigation along with long distance sailing skills to give you a taste for this truly inspirational past-time. The flotilla will often cruise to another island for a mid-morning stopover, to enjoy a swim or a coffee and ice cream.
Available in all our centres: Half to 3/4 day.
Try this new-wave of sailing this summer! We offer a free ‘Intro to Foiling’ taster session for intermediate sailors in our Porto Heli, Vassiliki and Kos centres. It’s run by our own foiling instructors, promises to be a lot of fun and is designed to help you understand the basics and have a taster session in one of these flying machines.
If you’re a competent intermediate sailor, comfortable with blast reaching a Laser, you will be ready to foil this summer. We also offer the RYA ‘First Flight’ course and ‘Sustained Flight’ course, for more in-depth learning which is generally run over two days.
All our resorts offer perfect conditions for Intermediate sailors with a thermal wind that switches on - like clockwork - every afternoon. We’ve installed our usual formula of EPICNESS (!) into every centre... That’s great instructors, the best dinghies and performance boats, with the best teaching standards in the industry. You’ll really excel in these reliable wind conditions which help boost enjoyment and progression beyond normal levels.
Our Level 3 coaching takes place at all our centres, but Pelion may be subject to availability restrictions and in Kos - our (free) course is a paid for extra.
The hotel Nautica Bay in Porto Heli is our Specialist Dinghy Sailing Centre and has the greatest range of kit. But all our centres are ideal for Intermediates - especially the Surf Hotel in Vassiliki and our Akti Beach Club in Kos - both have a great range of kit and both offer great sailing.
