Watersports Tuition

We have a crack team of British RYA (Royal Yachting Association) instructors at all our Beach Clubs. We pick them for their friendly and outgoing natures and you can trust them to look after you! They are experts at teaching all levels (not just the beginners) and are on hand all day to help you rig-up and get launched, provide safety boat cover and impart their knowledge, give tips and help you in any way they can!

Windsurf Tuition (Inclusive)

Beginner windsurf tuition and intermediate to advanced skills clinics are included in the cost of your holiday. We include a 3 hour starter lesson (on the water) for beginner windsurfers and guests who may need a little ‘brushing up’ so that they can use our windsurf equipment for their week away.

We also run shore based clinics (most days) for intermediate and advanced windsurfers to help progress skills and technique. We can help you with everything from nailing your gybe turns to perfecting water starts!

Whether you’re stepping into a boat for the first time, looking to progress your skills or just sailing for fun, sailing tuition is included with our holidays. We include a 3 hour starter lesson (on the water) for beginner sailors and guests who may need a little ‘brushing up’ so that they can use our dinghies all week.

We also run shore based clinics (most days) for intermediate and advanced sailors to help progress skills like spinnaker handling, gybes and sailing in a breeze.

If you would like more tuition, then you can also do a complete RYA course (4-5 half days) for beginners to intermediate level 3; so you can go home with an internationally recognised qualification. Courses are bookable on arrival and depend on participant numbers.

RYA Courses

Give yourself a focus for the week and join one of our RYA courses for windsurfing and dinghy sailing and go home with a new internationally recognised qualification to hang on your wall! Courses run for 4 to 5 mornings or afternoons each week (2-3 hours a day) and are lots of fun as you learn in small 6 person groups, (6 to 1 instructor ratio). Courses are bookable on arrival and depend on participant numbers.

Daily Skills Clinics (Inclusive)

We also run skills clinics (daily) for windsurfing and sailing. They are free to join and take place on the shore with our expert RYA instructors, using simulators to help learning. They are designed to help you pick up some tips and progress your sport without perhaps needing to commit to a lesson on the water.

We run clinics for all abilities, up to advanced, so you can pick-up tips on anything from tacking and gybing to sailing with spinnakers and water starts on your board!

WindFoiling (Inclusive)

We offer free-use of our windsurf foiling equipment in Kos so that you can experience the latest craze of foiling this summer. It will give you a taste of learning to fly on a specially adapted windsurf board, or as an accomplished foiler you can get a good amount of use of our foiling boards. You’ll need to be a high intermediate level to foil.

Paddlesports Clinics (Inclusive)

Our expert beach team will provide clinics for beginners and more accomplished paddlers. We’ll take beginners through their first steps on a SUP or a kayak and give an introduction to the different boards and kayaks available; with advice on how to safely fit a leash and buoyancy aid, how to correctly adjust your paddle size and getting started from the water’s edge. Once afloat, your instructor will walk you through some basic safety and paddle technique. You’ll soon be out on the water and exploring the bay in no time.

We also have plenty of tips and advice to give to more accomplished paddlers - like advice on paddling positions, steering, paddle technique and strokes.

Sail Away Dinghy Cruising (Inclusive)

Longer distance dinghy cruising to a line-of-sight destination is a very satisfying experience. We will offer you the opportunity to take part in our Sail Away cruises as we sail in company to a nearby island (a few miles away) or ‘secret-beach’ stopover with instructors and support boats on hand.

Cruising in small boats is a rewarding excursion and you will learn about route planning, safety, basic navigation and long distance sailing skills to get you hooked.

Regattas and racing (Inclusive)

We run daily racing and mini-regattas in all our clubs, for all levels, throughout the week. We will cover the basic rules of racing in our free daily clinics and always before a race. Our races are light hearted and aimed at all levels, beginner to expert. We’ll also run a bigger mid-week and end-of-week regatta for class boats like the Laser fleet and handicap racing for mixed fleets. It’s all about taking part and having fun, (with prizes too!). A chance to show your competitive side!

Yacht & Skipper Training (extra)

If you’ve never sailed before then tryl Yacht Training courses. We offer the Competent Crew and Day Skipper courses so you can get qualified to skipper your own yacht on our flotilla

We recommend taking a course during week one of a Stay Sail holiday so you can join our flotilla in week two and practice your newfound skills with our yacht team close to hand.

Even as a beginner with only a little experience, we can teach you everything you need to know to skipper your own yacht for week two on a flotilla with us. We don’t think that there’s any better holiday for such a learning experience.
