Porto Heli is a chic harbourside town in the beautiful Greek Riviera which has sheltered sailing and excellent watersports for all abilities. It’s also renowned for its local biking, walking and excursions as the area is brimming with local culture. Heli’ is the perfect base for visiting classical Greek landmarks: like archaeological sites, amphitheatres and ancient citadels. You can also visit the magical islands of Hydra and Spetses by boat, which departs directly from our hotel pontoon. One thing’s for sure, you’ll have plenty of variety and as much to do off the water, as on it!

Porto Heli Resort

Found at the southern tip of the Argolis Peninsula, ‘Heli’, as it’s known by the locals, is a beautiful natural harbour with a sheltered bay, sandy beaches and great sailing and windsurfing. It is also the perfect place to go island hopping to Spetses and Hydra; or to explore classical Greece and its ancient citadels and amphitheatres.

The centre of the resort is a 10-minute stroll along the seafront from our hotel where you will find waterfront cafés and shops aplenty.

Top things to do

In Porto Heli, there is as much to do off the water as there is on it! Everyone loves the watersports from our own private sandy beach in front of the hotel where you can grab a board, a kayak or a boat to explore the bay.

Heli’ also has lots of sights, tours and excursions and great biking and walking along its idyllic coastline. You’ll love exploring this beautiful region with its cultural sites, secret coves and beautiful beaches on two wheels or two feet!.

Heli’ is perfectly positioned to explore classical Greece including Mycenae, Epidavros, the Amphitheatre and Nafplion with its 13th century citadel. Try island hopping (the boat leaves right outside the hotel) to visit Spetses and Hydra.

Back at the club, you can join in with our paddle safari’s, watersports tuition and our famously popular kids clubs. Make use of the tennis courts and crazy golf or just relax and hit a sunlounger...hard!

Inclusive Activities

Perfect for all the family

We pride ourselves on being a big hit with families, so it’s understandable that our flagship centre in Porto Heli attracts lots of children during the school holidays. We make sure they have a great time. Kids love our free Active Clubs for 4 to 12 year olds and our excellent Youth Squad is a dedicated RYA coaching programme for 8-13 year olds. It is designed to give more focussed tuition for budding young windsurfing and sailing enthusiasts.

Heli is the perfect spot for families to get to grips with watersports. Gentle conditions in the bay each morning will enable everyone to get more than enough water-time before the winds build after lunch which will appeal to the intermediates and experts. The shallow and warm waters in the bay are ideal for kids to learn all water sports in this sheltered bay

Back at the club, Kids love the variety of having an excellent swimming pool, tennis courts, crazy golf and extensive gardens to run around in.

Heli for Windsurfing

Porto Heli is the perfect spot if you are a beginner or intermediate windsurfer and we include beginner tuition and skills clinics for more advanced windsurfers with all our holidays. Heli’ benefits from a sheltered bay and predictable winds which promote easy-learning and quick progression.

The thermal winds often build around lunchtime to offer exciting and manageable conditions (and not too boisterous!) for all abilities. We have a full range of windsurf equipment for you to use, with a good choice of intermediate and advanced boards in our racks.

‘Heli is a fantastic sailing centre, with great sailing for all abilities. Nautica Bay is also our Specialist Sailing Centre - stocked with our biggest range of boats and equipment.

We include free beginner tuition and skills clinics for more advanced sailors with all our holidays so that you can use our great range of boats and performance craft all week. If you’d like some more coaching then our excellent team of RYA instructors will help you achieve your goals this summer, whether it’s mastering your first gybes or sailing with spinnakers. We also have daily races and fun regattas to join, Sailaway dinghy cruising and sailing joyrides and tasters for our youngest Kids Club members..

Porto Heli Wind & Conditions

Mornings: F1-2
Afternoons: F3-4+

You can expect a light breeze each morning, perfect for some family sailing or learning to windsurf and sail with our expert team of RYA instructors. We also like to organise kayaking and paddle board cruises; and technical clinics for the experienced sailors, like sailing with spinnakers.

Around lunchtime the thermal wind builds to a Force 2-3 and often Force 4 giving more thrilling conditions. The enclosed nature of the bay and our excellent team of instructors offers safe and secure sailing and windsurfing for all levels.
