Whether you’re stepping into a boat for the first time, looking to progress your skills or just sailing for fun, we offer the highest standards of tuition from our very own Royal Yachting Association (RYA) instructors; along with all the sailing gear and performance boats you’ll ever need!
If you’ve never set foot in a boat before, then now’s your chance! This course will teach you the basics. It’s a fun course with most of it enjoyed on-the-water, so expect lots of sailing in your own boat in fair conditions with instructors-to-hand to help you progress. By the end of it, you’ll have learned how to sail confidently in all directions and shared some great times on the water with fellow guests. We'll also cover rigging, capsize techniques, launching and landing.
This course is run in smaller group sizes and follows the Ocean Elements Fast Forward coaching technique with 10-12 hours tuition time. At the end of your week, you’ll have earned a new and Internationally recognised RYA sailing qualification. For ages 14+. Under 13's will join our free kid's club (5 days) with watersports tasters. 8-13's can join our Youth Squad.
If you’ve done some sailing before, or completed Level 1, then you’ll be ready to move up a gear. Level 2 is an exciting course run by our own team of expert RYA instructors, (tuition time 10-12 hours). You’ll go home a more confident sailor with improved skills and have earned yourself a new and Internationally recognised RYA sailing qualification!
We’ll cover all the essentials in greater detail: better boat handling, tacking, gybing, capsize techniques, rigging, launching and safety. We’ll also provide an introduction to more progressive techniques like sailing with spinnakers and trapezing. For ages 14+. Under 13's will join our free kid's club (5 days) with sailing and windsurfing tasters. The 8-13's can join our Youth Squad.
Level 3 is a follow-on from the skills learned in Level 2. Our expert instructors will not only equip you with better sailing skills and some advanced techniques, but they will send you home a more confident sailor. You will have 10-12 hours tuition time over 4 days and will have earned an internationally recognised RYA :Level 3 qualification by the end of your stay.
We’ll cover better boat handling, tacking, gybing, capsize techniques, rigging, launching and safety to a higher level; and you’ll get a deeper introduction to more advanced modules like Performance Sailing and Sailing with Spinnakers. For ages 14+. Under 13's will join our free kid's club (5 days) with sailing and windsurfing tasters. The 8-13's can join our Youth Squad.
*Level 3 is included in Kos, Mytikas and Pelion, but subject to participant numbers. In the event of low numbers we will provide alternative (complimentary) tuition in the form of clinics for Level 3 sailors
Our Level 4 course is a shorter but more focussed Ocean Elements course, which fast tracks to the gritty detail of skills like: Sailing with Spinnakers, Seamanship, ‘Start Racing’ rules and Performance Sailing. This course will suit a competent intermediate who has done 4+ weeks sailing. On arrival, we will take requests and listen to our Level 4 pupils’ requirements to tailor a course to suit the group.
All our centres offer great wind conditions for expert sailors with a daily programme of racing and regattas. We also include Sailfoiling (and free tasters) in Porto Heli, Vassiliki and Kos.
Free Tasters
We even offering free foiling taster sessions for sailing so that you can experience the latest craze of foiling this summer. These 1 to 1.5 hours sessions will give you a taste of learning to fly on a specially adapted RS Aero with GlideFree foils. You’ll need to be an intermediate level sailor to enjoy this taster. There’s no need to pre-book, just sign up for a foiling taster when you arrive
RYA Foiling courses:
You can book a First Flight or Sustained Flight course before you depart or on arrival, but we recommend registering an interest before departure using your ‘My Holiday’ portal. All courses will run dependent on conditions.
Our holidays include daily tuition for beginners and intermediates. However, you may prefer some extra, more focused tuition, either as a ‘one-on-one or ‘one-on-two’ session to compliment you free lessons or one of our full RYA courses.
‘Privates’, as we call them, will help you focus on a specific technique or skill and are very valuable when coupled with lots of time on the water to practice what you’ve learnt. Privates are available as a paid-for extra in resort and they start at £34 per hour with support boat cover.
Our friendly team of British instructors are all fully qualified RYA (Royal Yachting Association) professionals. We pick them for their friendly and outgoing natures and because (like us) they have sea air in their blood!
You can trust them to look after you, they are experts at teaching all standards to sail (not just the beginners). They’ll be on hand all day to help rig and launch boats for free-sailors, teach our daily lessons and give advice, tips and guidance - whether you are in a lesson or not!
Our group lessons are so much fun, that’s why we offer a low guest price, to encourage you all to take part. You’ll meet new friends and enjoy learning things with other guests - giving you plenty to talk about in the bar afterwards!
Our lessons follow the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) syllabus and are grouped by ability. Our instructor/guest ratio is normally 1 to 6 and our safety standards are among the highest around. There’s no need to book a lesson before you travel, it’s all done at the Beach Club when you arrive, and availability is never an issue!
