Course Content

This is the first course in the RYA scheme, providing you with a basic introduction to foiling, seeing you take your first flights, as well as providing you with basic foiling knowledge. This 3 to 4 hour session is a lot of fun and will have you buzzing as we get you foiling for the first time!

To take part you need to be at Intermediate Planing standard. That is, being comfortable at blasting in foot straps; so if you have completed the RYA level 3 windsurf course, this is a good indication of the standard required.

About the First Flight Course

The course lasts for approximately half a day and runs for 3 to 4 hours depending on group size which is capped at 4 pupils max, (to one instructor). We like to run these sessions in small groups because group learning is faster, as we take it in turns to experience our foiling boards and share ideas with the group.

Your instructor will be in a support RIB nearby and you will be connected to the instructor by a Bluetooth headset. Impact vests, helmets and headsets supplied.

Onshore introduction to foiling and the kit
Onshore tuition detailing the basic techniques for foiling
How the board and foil works and are controlled
Safety briefing, how to use the two-way radios
On the water group lesson. Using RIB boats for support

RYA Sustained Flight Course

Cost: £199 (With £50 discount*)
RYA Foiling ‘Sustained Flights’ certificate
Experience Required: to ‘First Flights’ standard
Runtime: 12 hours (2 days)
Group size: 1-4 pupils*

Course Content

This course is for windsurfers who’ve already completed their First Flight course. If you have done so with us, you’ll get a £50 discount. This course builds on techniques and theory required to maintain and sustain foiling effectively. An absolute MUST to any aspiring foiler. Both courses can easily be achieved in a week with us, for a good intermediate level windsurfer.
